Tracks like “Had Enough”, “How Can You Do What You Do”, “Rock & Roll Over” and “Merciless” are all competent rock tunes, and due to Billy’s bass, the bottom end is unbelievable. Unfortunately it took Mr. Big one more album to really come up with the songwriting goods/5(59).

It's too bad that Nevermind had to make this sort of rock unfashionable in the early '90s. Anchored by the world-class chops of guitarist Paul Gilbert and bassist Billy Sheehan, Mr. Big's debut album is an adrenaline-fueled dose of pure rock & roll attitude. Don't let the big hair and leather pants fool you; much like Bon Jovi, Mr. Big is definitely not in the same category as '80s pop-metal.
  8. Duk says:
Mr. Big is one of the most overrated ands in rock history. Here is their debut that would be shake the world. Unfortunately, this is indeed no more than dull and trite category album. Merciless truth as it is about the band of question.
